Mitzo Restaurant & Bar at Grand Park Orchard Hotel is the perfect place for lunch and a couple of cheeky afternoon cocktails, or an intimate dinner date, with it’s stylish and vibrant decor providing a cosy ambience for any kind of tête–à-tête.
Serving contemporary Cantonese cuisine and a delightful array of artisanal cocktails, make sure you block out at least 2 hours to fully enjoy the food and drinks.
We started our meal with three different cocktails – all perfectly-blended concoctions thanks to Italian mixologist and Assistant Bar Manager Marco Pignotta.
The double boiled soup of the day ($14) was chicken and mushroom. As a soup lover, I could have just had endless bowls of this wholesome broth but I had to save space in my belly for the feast we had ordered. The Steamed Dim Sum Platter ($28), made fresh with premium ingredients, and the Stir-Fried Wagyu Beef Cubes with Black Pepper in Red Wine Sauce ($42) were just exquisite!
But what really blew us away, were these two pork dishes.
Forget the diet. You need to eat this.
One of celebrated Executive Head Chef Nicky Ng’s signature dishes is the Mitzo Black Truffle Crispy Roast Duck ($38) served in half portions – the combination of heady truffle, succulent duck meat and crispy skin is enough to send you into ecstasy. We somehow still had space to tuck into the Mitzo Braised Vermicelli with Scallops, Prawn and Cod Fish ($28) which was just amazing. How noodles can taste this good is beyond me.
To round off our indulgent meal, we were treated to dessert and MORE cocktails!! This time Marco, whipped up a bespoke cocktail for each of us based on our tastes and personalities. I didn’t think I was a “pink” person, but it wasn’t too sweet & just the way I like it.
Mitzo is a new addition to my top 10 favourite restaurants in Singapore. Now to find a hot date, so we can come back and check out the vibe at night!
